In this tutorial we will see how to install the amazing Papirus icon theme under Ubuntu 16.04 and Linux Mint. The icon theme is updated with more app icons such as Open Arena, Skype, Hamster, Sound Juicer, etc.

The icon theme is compatible with most known desktop environments like Unity, Gnome, Pantheon, Cinnamon, XFCE, etc.

Papirus Installation

Under Ubuntu 16.04/14.04, open the terminal and run these commands:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:varlesh-l/papirus-pack 
sudo apt-get update  
sudo apt-get install papirus-gtk-icon-theme

For manual installation, run these commands:

wget  -O papirus-gtk-icon-theme.deb https://goo.gl/PhofWG  
sudo dpkg -i --force-depends papirus-gtk-icon-theme.deb

To enable the theme, run this command:

     gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface icon-theme 'Papirus-Dark-GTK'

For the other flavor, run this:

     gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface icon-theme 'Papirus-GTK'
