In this tutorial, we will see how to install  KDE Connect under Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and Linux Mint 18 or older.

 KDE Connect is an application that makes it easy to commuinicate with your Android device from your Linux desktop. With KDE Connect, you can:
  • Receive phone notifications 
  • Reply to SMS
  • Mount Android device wirelessly
  • Ring your phone remotely 
  • Remote control for your desktop via a secure communication protocol

KDE Connect Installation

Under Ubuntu 16.04 or Linux Mint 18, open the terminal and run these commands:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:vikoadi/ppa 
sudo apt update 
sudo apt install kdeconnect indicator-kdeconnect sshfs

Open KDE Connect Settings from Unity Launcher to connect and sync your Android device:

If you are using the ufw firewall and is enabled, open KDE Connect's ports with these commands:

sudo ufw allow 1714:1764/udp 
sudo ufw allow 1714:1764/tcp 
sudo ufw reload
