Another maintenance release of kernel 4.1 series has been made available recently for Linux operating systems. In this brief guide, we will show you how to install Linux Kernel 4.1.3 on Ubuntu and any of its derivatives like Linux Mint.

    Linux Kernel 4.1.3 Installation

To install Linux kernel 4.1.3 on Ubuntu or Linux Mint, enter these commands:

cd /tmp 
wget https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/47950494/upubuntu/kernel-4.1.3 
chmod +x kernel-4.1.3 
sudo sh kernel-4.1.3 
sudo reboot

Linux Kernel 4.1.3 Removal (Optional)

To uninstall kernel 4.1.3, enter these commands:

sudo apt-get purge linux.image-4.1.3-* 
sudo update-grub

This will install current kernel version and restore the prvious one.
