Linux kernel 4.0.4 has been released recently bringing more updates and bug fixes. To install it on Ubuntu or any Ubuntu-based platform, you can use our bash script that will automatically download and install kernel files on your system.

  Linux Kernel 4.0.4 Installation

To install Linux kernel 4.0.4 on Ubuntu/Linux Mint, write these commands:

cd /tmp 
wget https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/47950494/upubuntu/kernel-4.0.4
chmod +x kernel-4.0.4
sudo sh kernel-4.0.4
sudo reboot

Linux Kernel 4.0.4 Removal (Optional)

To uninstall kernel 4.0.4 and revert back to old kernel, write these:

sudo apt-get purge linux.image-4.0.4-* 
sudo update-grub
