Linux Kernel 3.18.3 has been released recently bringing more updates and bug fixes. You can easily install it on your system using the instructions below, but do it at your own risk.

 Linux Kernel 3.18.3 Installation

You can install Linux kernel 3.18.3 under Ubuntu/Linux Mint by running these commands:

cd /tmp 
wget http://tinyurl.com/l9mwzxw -O kernel-3.18.3 
chmod +x kernel-3.18.3 
sudo sh kernel-3.18.3  
sudo reboot
For low latency systems,  you can install kernel 3.8.3 using these commands at your own risk:

sudo apt-get install php5-cli 
cd /tmp 
wget http://goo.gl/RBA9lG -O low-latency-kernel 
chmod +x low-latency-kernel 
sudo ./low-latency-kernel
From the list that will show up, type "3.18" as kernel version and press Enter:

When the installation completes, run this command:

sudo reboot


Kernel 3.18.3 Removal

To uninstall kernel 3.18.3 run these commands:

sudo apt-get purge linux.image-3.18.3-* 
sudo update-grub
