Hugin is a free open source panoramic stitching software available for Windows and Linux that allows users to create 360-degree panoramas. It is in fact a GUI front-end for Panorama Tools. You can use Hugin to stitch any number of photographs into a beautiful panoramic image (large image).

The user can easily create control points so that it align and transform photos in a way that they form a large image. Hugin allows to preview the panorama before exporting it so that you see if it is acceptable or not. Hugin can stitch multiple rows of images (with or without bracketing) including support for HDR stitching and the user is offered the possibility to perform advanced photometric corrections. There are many features for this useful application, you can review them here.

Fortunately, there is a PPA for Hugin, so the installation will be easy in Ubuntu and Linux Mint.
