Here is a quick tip that will allow us to move window buttons of Google Chrome to the right. This method will only affect the Chrome browser, the other program windows will not be affected. You can apply the commands given below either under Ubuntu Unity or Gnome Shell.

Getting Started

To move window buttons of Google Chrome to the right under Ubuntu 12.10 or older, open the terminal and issue this command:

gconftool-2 --set /apps/metacity/general/button_layout --type string ":minimize,maximize,close"

Changes will be instantaneous, so no need to restart or log out. If you have changed your mind and want to move the window buttons back to the left, you can use this command from the terminal:

gconftool-2 --set /apps/metacity/general/button_layout --type string "minimize,maximize,close:"

That's it!
