In this tutorial we will help you install Google Earth 7 in Ubuntu/Linux Mint. This latest version includes more exciting new features such as 3D imagery and tour guide. The installation will be for the following Linux distributions:

  • Ubuntu 12.10/12.04/11.10

  • Debian 6.0 Squeeze
Google Earth 7 Installation

In a 32-bit system, issue these commands from the terminal:

sudo apt-get install lsb-core 
cd /tmp 
wget -c -O google-earth-stable_i386.deb 
sudo dpkg -i google-earth-stable_i386.deb
For 64-bit systems, run these commands:

sudo apt-get install lsb-core 
cd /tmp 
wget -c -O google-earth-stable_amd64.deb 
sudo dpkg -i google-earth-stable_amd64.deb
