In this tutorial we will see how to install Flash Player 11 manually on Ubuntu 12.04 and any other Ubuntu-based distribution like Linux Mint 13 (Maya). It will be very useful for those having troubles installing Flash Player using Ubuntu Software Center or any other external PPA.

Flash Player 11 Installation

Close all running instances of Firefox, open the terminal and run these commands to install Flash Player 11:

mkdir -p /tmp/flash11 && cd /tmp/flash11
wget -O flash_player_11_i386.tar.gz http://goo.gl/ECrrSw
tar -zxvf flash_player_11_i386.tar.gz
sudo cp -r libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/firefox/plugins
sudo cp -r usr/* /usr

To test if the installation is successful, open this link using Firefox:

http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

This tip is also workable for older versions of Ubuntu (11.10/11.04) and Linux Mint 13 or older.

That's it!
