In this tutorial we will help you install Bionic Dot Conky on Ubuntu 12.04/11.10. Based on the old Windows Media Player skin, this widget will display on your desktop CPU/memory/disk usage, weather, date, network meter, etc. Here is a screenshot of Bionic Dot Conky in three different colors:

To install it on Ubuntu 12.04/11.10, you can either do this manually by downloading its package from here and follow setup instructions in the Read-me file, or you can simply install it via our custom PPA by running these commands in the terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:upubuntu-com/conky

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install bionic-dot-conky

You can now start it from the Unity dash by selecting any color of your choice:

To use your own weather details with this widget, go to this website and search your city using the search box. In the resulting page, copy the URL and use it as follows:

- Via the terminal, edit the weather file for each color with this command:

gedit ~/.Conky/bionic_dot_blue/accuweather/accuw_script

To edit other colors, replace blue with red or green in the command above.

- Scroll down and find this section:

#put your Accuweather address here

Replace the default link with your own, save the file and exit. To exit this widget, run this command:

killall conky

Note: This Conky application may not work for all users, but I hope it will work for all of you!
