When starting an application or browsing the Nautilus file manager as root, you will notice that the user interface look worse and is not the same as the current GTK theme used by your system.

If for example you run this command from the terminal:

sudo nautilus

You will notice that the user interface of the Nautilus file manager is "ugly". With just few commands, you can fix all this by running the following commands from the terminal:

sudo ln -s ~/.fonts /root/.fonts

sudo ln -s ~/.icons /root/.icons

sudo ln -s ~/.themes /root/.themes

These commands will create symbolic links pointing to your current theme, icon and font installed in Ubuntu.
