We have previously seen how to install GLANCES under Ubuntu from source, which seemed difficult for some users. Today I will show you how to install GLANCES under Ubuntu 12.04/11.10 or older using a PPA. As you know, GLANCES is a command line monitoring tool that displays in real-time system stats (CPU, Hard Disks, Memory Usage, Network Acitivities, etc.).
To install GLANCES under Ubuntu, open the terminal and run the following commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:arnaud-hartmann/glances-stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install glances
You can then start GLANCES with this command:
To exit GLANCES, press CTRL+C. To report about bugs and get more information about this PPA, check this page.
