pyFormex is a tool written in Python that allows users to manipulate, generate, and transform 3D geometrical models by sequences of mathematical operations. pyFormex provides users with basic and stable scripting language and an easy to use OpenGL GUI that displays structures to be manipulated.

pyFormex Installation

You need to install first these dependencies:

sudo apt-get install apt-get install python-qt4-gl python-numpy
sudo apt-get install python-dev libgl1-mesa-dev
sudo apt-get install python-gnuplot python-doc python-scipy units imagemagick admesh

Then install pyFormex with these commands:

wget -O pyformex-0.8.6.tar.gz http://goo.gl/kwNaz
tar -xzvf pyformex-0.8.6.tar.gz && cd pyformex-0.8.6
sudo python setup.py install --prefix=/usr/local

You can then run pyFormex from the Unity Dash, or use this command:
