In this guide we will see another Linux desktop named Razor-qt. This Linux desktop environment is based on the Qt framework that can be used as alternative to other desktop environments made for Linux-based systems (Unity for example).
Razor-QT is lightweight and designed mainly for users who give much importance to speed, simplicity, and straightforward interfaces that don't change excessively over time. This Linux desktop can be integrated smoothly in both old and new computers and is compatible with most file managers.
To install Razor-QT (currently in v0.4.0) on Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot), open the terminal and run the following commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:razor-qt
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install razorqt
Log out, select Razor Desktop from the login manager menu, then log back in:
