The version 9.0 of the Firefox web browser is now available in the stable PPA repository. This stable release is now available for Ubuntu 10.10 and 10.04, and for Ubuntu 11.04/10.10, we will use the Ubuntu Mozilla Security PPA for now until Firefox 9 is added to the official repository of Ubuntu, which will be very soon.

For Ubuntu 10.10/10.04, you can install Firefox 9 with these commands:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mozillateam/firefox-stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install firefox

To install Firefox 9 on Ubuntu 11.04/11.10, you can use this PPA for now:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-mozilla-security/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install firefox

That's it!
