There are many alternatives to the default burning application (Brasero) that comes with Ubuntu such as SimpleBurn, K3b, Silicon Empire, and GnomeBaker. It is your choice to decide which application that best fits your needs. In this guide we will suggest to you to try GnomeBaker, an application for burning CDs and DVDs (data & audio discs).

To install GnomeBaker on Ubuntu 11.10 or any older version of Ubuntu, issue these commands from the terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnomebaker/stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gnomebaker

That's it!
