Flacon is a program written in Python that allows to extract individual tracks from a big audio file (CD audio image file) containing the entire album whether it is in the FLAC, APE, Wav, TTA or WavPack. The user interface for Flacon is very easy to use and allows to work either on a file or entire directory with support of CDDB.
You can save the extracted music files in various media formats such as MP3, WAV, OGG, AAC, WavPack or FLAC. To install Flacon (0.6.0) on Ubuntu 11.10 or any older versions of Ubuntu, open the terminal and issue this sequence of commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:flacon/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install flacon
You can then start Flacon via the Unity Dash.
