In this tip we will show you how to minimize current windows with the middle mouse button under Unity or Gnome Shell for Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot. This tip will allow you to minimize a window once you click the window title bar with your middle mouse button.

Getting Started

1. Install first Gnome Tweak Tool with this command:

sudo apt-get install gnome-tweak-tool

2. Start it now via the Unity Dash:

3. Open the Windows tab and select Minimize from the "Action on title bar middle-click" dropdown menu:

4. Close Gnome Tweak Tool then you will be able to minimize windows using your middle mouse button, click simply the window title bar.
