TeamSpeak 3 is an amazing multi-platform voice chat program written in C++.  TeamSpeak 3 will give you a new experience in voice communication along with numerous new features. The user interface (GUI) has been redesigned in a way that makes it more professional and easy to navigate.

In this guide we will help you install TeamSpeak 3 on Ubuntu 11.10, you can also install it on older versions of Ubuntu.

TeamSpeak 3 Installation

To install TeamSpeak 3 on Ubuntu (32-bit), open the terminal and run this sequence of commands:

wget -O TeamSpeak.run http://goo.gl/oYUad
chmod +x TeamSpeak.run

For Ubuntu (64-bit), run these commands:

wget -O TeamSpeak.run http://goo.gl/u4XY9
chmod +x TeamSpeak.run

Press Enter then press Q and type YES to accept user agreement. After the installation is finished, double-click the ts3client_runscript.sh file to start the application (the program folder will be created in the home folder). To make a shortcut for TeamSpeak 3 on your desktop, open the terminal and run this command:

gnome-desktop-item-edit --create-new ~/Desktop

Then browse to the folder containing the ts3client_runscript.sh file and open it (usually in the home folder).
