Rodent is a fast and advanced file manager designed to run on GNU operating systems and BSD. The developer of this file manager prefers to call it a graphic shell and intends his project mainly for advanced users not novice ones. Rodent is fast because it uses multithread mechanisms for processing tasks, users of non-multicore processors will not notice this.
With Rodent's right-click menu, you can browse your system folders and bookmarks, browse installed applications, create new files and folders, search files, compare files or folders, show hidden files, etc.
To install Rodent (v4.7.4) on Ubuntu 11.10/11.04 (32-bit), open the terminal and run these commands:
wget -O rodent_4.7.4-1_i386.deb http://sourceforge.net/projects/xffm/files/4.7.4/debian-i386/rodent_4.7.4-1_i386.deb/download
sudo dpkg -i rodent_4.7.4-1_i386.deb
For Ubuntu (64-bit), use these commands:
wget -O rodent_4.7.4-1_amd64.deb http://sourceforge.net/projects/xffm/files/4.7.4/debian-amd64/rodent_4.7.4-1_amd64.deb/download
sudo dpkg -i rodent_4.7.4-1_amd64.deb
