LiveUSB Install is a software that allows users to install various Linux-based distributions directly onto your USB flash drive. It can help you, for example, create a Live Linux USB for Ubuntu, Fedora, Android, CentOS, and many others. In this guide we will help you install LiveUSB Install on Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot.
LiveUSB Install Installation
We will install using the .deb package. So, open the terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and run this sequence of commands:
sudo apt-get install unrar-free
sudo apt-get install p7zip-full
wget -O live-usb-install-2.3.2-all.deb http://goo.gl/WsMLh
sudo dpkg -i live-usb*.deb
Once installed and launched, select the means you want to install from (CD/DVD drive/ISO image/Internet), select a Linux distribution and version from the dropdown menus, select the USB drive you want to install the distribution onto, then hit OK.
