In this tutorial we will help you install Linux Mint 12 extensions and applications on Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot. After doing some modifications, you will be able to install Linux Mint 12 extensions or applications directly from Ubuntu Software Center.

Getting Started

1. Open the terminal and run this command to edit the /etc/apt/sources.list file:

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

2. At the end of the file add these two new lines:

## Linux Mint 12 Repository
deb http://packages.linuxmint.com/ lisa main upstream import

3. Save your file and exit.

3. Run now this command to update your repositories:

sudo apt-get update

4. Run now these commands:

sudo apt-get install linuxmint-keyring
sudo apt-get update

Then log out the current session and log back in.

5. You can now install Linux Mint 12 extensions and applications from Ubuntu Software Center. Search for the "mint" keyword and you will get a list of all related extensions and applications:

Installed extensions can be later activated via Gnome Tweak Tool.
