GnomishBeige is a simple GTK3 beige theme based on the Adwaita theme. You can easily use this theme with Gnome Shell and Unity. So, in this guide we will help you install it on Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric ocelot.

GnomishBeige Installation

To install GnomishBeige on Ubuntu, run this sequence of commands from the terminal:

wget -O GnomishBeige.tar.bz2 http://goo.gl/e2Qo8
tar jxvf GnomishBeige.tar.bz2 -C ~/.themes

To enable the theme run these two commands:

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-theme 'GnomishBeige'
gconftool-2 --set --type string /apps/metacity/general/theme 'GnomishBeige'

Or enable it with the Gnome Tweak Tool.
