Key-Mon is a utility that allows Ubuntu users to monitor keyboard and mouse status on your screen. Once launched, Key-Mon will stick to the bottom of your screen and will display in real-time your key presses and mouse clicks.
You can also move the utility bar to any other area on your screen. This utility can be useful in teaching and screencasts.
First, install this dependency via the terminal:
sudo apt-get install python-xlib
To install Key-Mon (v1.8) on Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot) or Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwhal), issue these commands:
sudo dpkg -i keymon_1.8-1_all.deb
