Before the release of Ubuntu 11.10  (Oneiric Ocelot), users of Ubuntu had to wait for six months between each Ubuntu release to get a new driver update for their NVIDIA/ATI graphics card.

From now on, users of Ubuntu 11.10 will be able to update their graphics card driver regularly without the need to wait for a new release. New updates were already made available for both  Nvidia and ATI, you can install them by opening the Dash, typing "jockey" without quotes in the search bar and open Additional Drivers:

The provided driver updates for both Nvidia and ATI are stable releases not beta, install them with confidence.
