In this tutorial we will help you run the classic Gnome version under Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot). This will help you replace the Unity interface with the classic Gnome interface of  that of Ubuntu 10.10.

Since Ubuntu 11.10 doesn't provide the possibility to switch to the "classic" interface, you can easily add this feature by running this command via the terminal:

sudo apt-get install gnome-session-fallback

Once the installation is complete, log out the current session, select "Gnome Classic" from the settings menu, then log in using your access details:

To add applets to the upper panel, press ALT and make a right click on the panel:
