FrostWire is a free open source BitTorrent client. It allows to share and search files of different sizes and formats via the P2P network with faster download speeds. The user interface for FrostWire is very slick and attractive with customizable skins. In this guide we will see how to install FrostWire on Ubuntu 11.10/11.04. FrostWire needs Java 1.6 or later to run.

FrostWire Installation (5.2.3)

Install first this dependency from the terminal if it's not installed:

sudo apt-get install default-jre

To install FrostWire on Ubuntu 11.10/11.04, run these commands:

wget -O frostwire.deb http://goo.gl/8jSo3
sudo dpkg -i frostwire.deb

Start now FrostWire from the Unity Dash:
