In this guide, we will see how to use the terminal to combine (wrap) multiple MP3 files into a single MP3 file. This is possible with the help of the Mp3Wrap command line utility. Mp3Wrap allows to merge multiple MP3 tracks into a single audio file without losing file name and ID3 information.
To install Mp3Wrap on Ubuntu (11.10/11.04/10.10/10.04), open the Terminal and run this command:
sudo apt-get install mp3wrap
Via the Terminal, cd to the folder containing the MP3 files you want to join and run this command:
mp3wrap output file1.mp3 file2.mp3 file3.mp3
Replace "file1.mp3 file2.mp3 file3.mp3" with the name of your mp3 files. The mp3 files will be joined and saved in one file in the current folder. For more help about this command line utility, run this command from the terminal:
