PeaZip is a desktop archive and file manager that uses many robust encryption standards (AES256). With PeaZip, you can split files and join them back, compare files, hash files, generate random passwords, etc.

PeaZip Installation

To install PeaZip on Ubuntu 11.04/10.10/10.04, run these commands from the Terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T):

wget http://peazip.googlecode.com/files/peazip_3.9.LINUX.GTK2-2_all.deb
dpkg -i peazip_3.9.LINUX.GTK2-2_all.deb

You can then start PeaZip using the dash (Ubuntu 11.04):
