Turpial is a Twitter client written in Python that allows users to manage their Twitter and Identica accounts from their Ubuntu desktops. This client is fast, very easy to use, and can be installed and integrated smoothly in Gnome.

- Update your status remotely, etc.
To install Turpial (1.5.0) on Ubuntu 11.04/10.10/10.04, launch the Terminal and run these commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:effie-jayx/turpial
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install turpial
You can then start it using the Ubuntu 11.04 dash, or via Applications > Internet > Turpial on Ubuntu 10.10/10.04. Here is a screenshot for the main interface of Turpial:
