The Ubuntu Software Center is a program that allows Ubuntu users to browse, install, and remove applications. If you are using Ubuntu 11.04, then your Ubuntu Software Center version is 4.0.

To be able to take benefit of new features found in latest versions of this program, then follow these instructions to upgrade it:

Launch the Terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and run these commands:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:software-store-developers/daily-build
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install software-center

After running these commands, you will upgrade Ubuntu Software Center to the currently available latest version (4.1.9).
