Emerald is a theme manager that allows Ubuntu users to decorate their window borders. In this tutorial, we will see how to install it on Ubuntu 11.04.

Emerald Installation

Launch the Terminal and run these commands to install Emerald on Ubuntu 11.04:

sudo apt-get install emerald

Then run the following commands to fix the segmentation fault for Emerald on Ubuntu 11.04:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:malteworld/compiz
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

You can start Emerald using the dash:

Note: Emerald runs with GTK3 themes, so select one to be able to customize it with Emerald.
