Scribus is a free cross-platform desktop publishing (DTP) software based on the Qt toolkit. Having a broad set of page layout features, Scribus can be compared to non-free software like Adobe PageMaker or Adobe InDesign.
With a modern and professional user interface, Scribus supports nearly all image formats including SVG (scalable vector graphics). Among professional publishing features, Scribus supports CMYK colors and ICC color management as well as the ability to create animated PDF forms and presentations that you can use on a newspaper, books, posters, etc.
To install Scribus on Ubuntu 11.04/10.10/10.04, launch the terminal and issue these commands:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:scribus/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install scribus-trunk
